Good day Members of the Seven Seas Club,

Please be advised of the following Club Notices:

From the Editor of TATTLER, Jonathan Golding:

“Good Day all

As you are all aware, the Seven seas Club is celebrating its 150th year of existence in 2018.

The previous edition of Tattler covered a little bit of the history of Simon's Town in which our club played a role.

Many of you are long standing members of the club and have no doubt spent countless happy occasions in it. I am sure you can recollect days of celebration, joyful episodes, amusing incidents and the like.

Tattler would love to share some of your tales. You are invited to submit stories, anecdotes, photographs and memories in general to me ( This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.). I will undertake to do my best to share them in the next and future editions.

I really look forward to your contributions - let's share some of the happiness you have experienced.

Kind Regards

Jonathan”

PS  If you send me a photograph (which I hope you do!), please do your best to identify all or some of the people in the picture!

Good day Members of the Seven Seas Club,

Please be advised that the next Club Movie night will be on Wednesday the 22nd August 2018; start time is 18h30.  Something very different, but still with a nautical flavour! This one was requested by Brad Wallace-Bradley, who has sailed in those waters and can tell us much about the story. The movie is the 1979 spy thriller “The Riddle of the Sands”, based upon the book by Erskine Childers. The story is set in 1901, and is about the efforts of two English yachtsmen to avert a plot by the German Empire to launch a military seaborne invasion of England. The main actors are Michael York, Simon MacCorkindale and Jenny Agutter, and the running time is 99 minutes.
